“Because”

“Eat your crusts”, Mother would say. Oh! How, as a child, fresh baked bread would fill one’s nose and other sensibilities with warmth, with pure joy. This Autumn Apple Bread before you, from a local baker, Great Harvest here in Midlothian, VA. Its ingredients? A gift from Mother Nature’s pantry: apples, golden raisins, sunflower seeds, oats, maple syrup, and nutmeg. Baked in these autuminal times on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. So let’s quickly raise a (doorstep) slice — because a loaf left out will soon be gone. (And in full transparency, this one has already been sliced into.)
